Information regarding the field course:

Field measurements will be conducted either around Gillenfeld/Eifel to investigate volcanic Maar structures or as part of the DESMEX-II project at the site Kropfmühl in southern Germany. The latter is a mineral deposit which shall be explored during DESMEX-II using novel EM techniques. During the field course we will apply surface electromagnetic and direct current resistivity methods to gain information about the shallow subsurface structure (down to max. 200 m depth). The field work will be conducted in groups. The collected field data will be analyzed and discussed every evening to gain first insights to the subsurface structure and answer open questions. Please check the website for further announcements and updates regarding the module.
