Description/ Content | - Execution of meteorological field measurements (insitu and remote sensing)
- Execution of radiosonde ascensions and piloting
- Introduction to measurement techniques and interconnection of instruments for real-time usage
- Execution of calibrations and compare measurements
- Error analysis including compare measurements

Organisation and teaching style | Students prepare the basics of the experiments in groups. To applicate methods, students execute, also in groups, measurements and analyze them independently according to the instruction. Experiments are documented written. |
Course assessment, assessment mode | This module is a compensable electoral module. It is passed if - the internship was attended successfully.
- the test is passed. If the test is not passed there will be the opportunity for a re-test (written or oral). In case of not passing the re-test it is recommended to attend the course of the module again with a subsequent second re-test. Already attested experiments will not be accredited. If the second re-test is not passed the module is failed finally.
The module mark is the mark of the test (or re-test). |
Learning/ qualification targets | - Organisation of independent measurements (observation plan)
- Dealing with meteorological instruments
- Knowledge of the latest meteorological measurement procedures
- Critical interpretation of measurements
- Written documentation of technical/ meteorological relations
|
Prerequisites for attending | Passed modules: - Einführung in die Geophysik und Meteorologie
- Experimentalphysik I
- Experimentalpysik II
|
Frequency of the offer | Every summer semester |
Imparted interdisciplinary competencies and soft skills | - Organisational skills by planning and executing of meteorological measurements
- Protocoling and documenting of meteorological measurements
- Ability to work in a team
|
Applicability in other courses of studies | --- |
Accumulation in overall mark | Yes, weighted with the factor 8/180. |
